Occultism and Magic at the Quest Bookshop

If you can define science as the study of the physical world, then occultism can be defined as the study of the non-physical word; the world beyond that which can be measured. The term "occult" comes from the Latin word, "occultus", meaning hidden or secreted. Occultism is an attempt to discover the hidden side of things. Magic, a part of occultism, can be defined as "the alteration of objective reality through the alteration of subjective reality." In the broad sense, virtually everything we do is magic; for example we subjectively decide that we want light, so we command our hands to flip a light switch. But many believe that more direct alterations can be made. This section is for those who hold that belief, or are interested in it.
